The Recovery House 12 Steps

Comprehensive support for lasting sobriety and personal growth.

Committed to Recovery

Our Vision

The Recovery House is a non-profit (501(c)(3)) tax-exempt organization; it is a value-based program that provides transitional housing for alcoholics and substance abuse individuals based on the 12-steps program.  It is a program for males who are recovering from alcohol and/or substance abuse, individuals who have gone through or graduated from an alcohol or substance abuse treatment program, been court ordered to a diversion program as a result of a sentence, been discharged from confinement, or have been referred through other service agencies.  We strive to achieve and maintain a way of living in which the residents can return as assets to the community through meetings, participation in A.A. therapy, drug testing and cooperating with the judicial system and mandated reporting.  The Recovery House collaborates with the Miami-Dade Drug Courts as well as Banyan Health; these partnerships provide additional resources and assistance to residents in their respective recovery journeys.  This comprehensive approach enhances The Recovery House’s effectiveness by integrating legal and health support into the recovery process.

The Recovery House provides a safe environment and services to strengthen sobriety, promote and re-establish self-esteem, self-empowerment and self-sufficiency, and transition back into mainstream society as productive and law-abiding citizens.  The Recovery House provides residents with more than just shelter.  We have created an optimally stable living environment to provide residents an ideal opportunity to successfully maintain sobriety.  We strive to maintain a clean and safe “home-like” condition while instilling the principles of the 12 Step Program of Recovery.  We make every effort to eliminate as much distraction as possible to enable our residents to focus more on their successful re-entry into mainstream society.   Located in Hialeah, Florida, the organization offers housing for those seeking to overcome addiction.  As residents work to end active addiction, they develop vital life skills and social connections, paving the way for sustainable recovery and re-integration into society.  The organization’s commitment to caring for individuals affected by substance abuse makes a profound difference in the Hialeah community and beyond.  Our mission serves to facilitate meaningful change in a safe and sober environment, while allowing individuals in recovery to assume and uphold responsibilities, to foster connections with peers, and to work toward fully independent living.

"The recovery house 12 step is a great group of sober living houses in the Hialeah Miami springs area, I've been here for 9 months at this point and can say, if you need something to help further your early recovery this is one of the best sober living situations I've seen. There is alot of structure, having random testing, chores, curfews, mandatory AA and NA meetings (which 4 times a week Mr. Hernandez provides transportation to) great peer support system. Mr. Hernandez goes above and beyond to try to help clients in all ways he can when it comes to us trying to further ourselves in not only recovery but life all around. He has knowledge in the court systems helping me personally and many other navigate the resources and process of my legal situation. We do community building activities such as house dinners, birthday parties, bowling nights and other activities to bring our brotherhood together reminding us that having fun and success in life is possible in recovery. He personally sponsors multiple people from the houses in the program and has been a strong part of my support network since coming to South Florida from Pennsylvania. He runs a tight ship giving us responsibilities and keeping us accountable for ourselves in all ways.

"The owner is helping me out with my court cases.  He also picked me up from treatment and bought me to here and has made sure that I felt comfortable and gave me the chance to succeed in staying sober."

Chris, Hialeah

"It's been a great experience, all the guys have helped my journey by making sure I had food and felt comfortable.  For my first experience with sober living I feel immense gratitude."

Steve, Hialeah

“I struggled with addiction for years and sought help from medical professionals, support groups, psychopharmacology… you name it, I tried it. It was not until I lived in Frank’s recovery house that I realized that I needed a more structured environment surrounded by men who shared the same issue and were earnestly committed to changing their lives. I have a second family now, and am forever grateful for the lessons I learned from the recovery house.”
